You can also sail a boat from Sisak and experience it from another perspective. The Kupa is one of the symbols of Sisak, and a living witness to the tumultuous past of the knight's city. Illyrian tribes, Celts, ancient Romans... they all fought for their lives alongside the Kupa River, which still means the world to the people of Sisak today. Take a walk to Mali Kaptol, which dates back to the 18th century, and to the Dutch House from the 19th century, which today houses the modern representative info center of the industrial heritage of the city of Sisak. If you continue walking down the Kupa River, you will reach the Renaissance fortress of the Old Town, which is a present-day witness to a historical 16th-century battle for Sisak. 

The entire city actually lies on archeological ruins, so all those with an adventurous spirit and fans of historical and cultural tidbits, legends, and stories will enjoy themselves there. On the other hand, Sisak is a lively urban center and the stage for many concerts, creative events, spectacular murals... If you head 20 km northwest from Sisak, you will reach Lekenik, a peaceful village in the Pokupsko area that offers the perfect balance between peace and adrenaline. Combine recreational horseback riding, rowing down the Kupa, or cycling with a visit to the Škofač Ethno-collection, wooden chapels, a cactus greenhouse, or tasting rooms for wine and spirits.
